Dorothy Squires, born Edna May Squires on 25 March 1915 in Pontyberem, Carmarthenshire, was a Welsh traditional pop singer. She began her professional singing career at the age of 16 while working in a tin plate factory and performing at local clubs. Her early hits included "The Gypsy" and "A Tree in the Meadow", both written by her partner Billy Reid.
