Dorothy "Dottie" Peoples, born on August 12, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio, is an
American gospel singer. After completing high school, she toured with gospel
pioneer Dorothy Norwood. In the late 1970s, Peoples relocated to Atlanta and
returned to her gospel roots. Her debut album Surely God Is Able was released in
1984. She gained significant chart success with Live: Featuring "On Time God"
(1995), which peaked at Number 3 on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart and
