Eddy Wally
Eddy Wally, born Eduard Van De Walle on July 12, 1932 in Zelzate, Belgium, was a
Belgian singer. He began his musical journey by performing as a singer and
guitarist in cafes after work. In 1961, Eddy Wally released his single "Oh
Gitana", which gained him local recognition. His breakthrough came with the
release of "Chérie" in 1966, produced by Johnny Hoes. The song became a hit,
reaching Number 1 in the Flemish charts and earned a gold record. Eddy Wally's
popularity grew further when he appeared on Jan Van Rompaey’s television show
