Edwin Rivera
Edwin Rivera Rodríguez is a Puerto Rican salsa and merengue singer. Born in
Santurce, Puerto Rico, on October 14, 1970, Rivera studied at the Conservatory
of Music of Puerto Rico. He began his career working as a trumpeter and backing
vocalist for Tito Rojas. In 1993, Rivera launched his solo career with the album
Dame Un Día Más, which featured the single "Yo Soy Tú". He followed with the
album Contigo in 1994. The album sold over 50,000 copies, earned a gold
certification, and produced the singles "Mi niña mimada" and "Baby, baby, baby".
