EggPlantEgg, a Taiwanese indie rock group founded in 2012 in Taipei, emerged
from five students at Taipei Municipal Song Shan Senior High School, with
Ng Ki‑pin as the sole original member. The band released its debut studio album
Cartoon Character on 28 July 2017, featuring the singles "Waves Wandering" and
"Back Here Again" which became among the most‑viewed Chinese music videos on
YouTube. In 2018 EggPlantEgg received the Golden Melody Awards for Best New
Artist and Best Taiwanese Album, cementing its influence on the Hokkien pop
