Eilen Jewell, born April 6, 1979, in Boise, Idaho, is an American songwriter and
country and roots rock musician. Jewell began performing during studies at St.
John's College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. After moving to Los Angeles, Jewell
became a prominent figure in the Venice Beach music scene. In the fall of 2003,
Jewell relocated to Cambridge, Massachusetts, joining the local folk and roots
music community. The debut album, Boundary County (2005), was followed by
