El Prodigio
El Prodigio is a merengue típico accordionist from Cabrera, Dominican Republic.
Born Krency Garcia, he began playing the accordion at a young age, gave his
first public performance at age five, and performed on various children's
television shows. He studied jazz at the Berklee Institute of Music,
incorporating its elements into his improvisation techniques and albums, and
added instruments such as the trombone, trumpet, and Wurlitzer piano to his
musical lineup. He released his studio album Se Alocó in 1998, followed by Que
Se Vaya in 2001, En Vivo in 2003, Cabecita Loca in 2004...
