Emilio Pericoli, born on 7 January 1928 in Cesenatico, Romagna, was an Italian
singer. His career began with a notable cover of "Al di là", originally
performed by Betty Curtis, which became an international success. The song
reached number three on the US Adult Contemporary chart and number six on the
pop chart, selling over one million copies and earning a gold disc. In 1962, he
participated in the Sanremo Festival himself, collaborating with composer Tony
