Emily Portman, born in Glastonbury, England, is a British folk musician known
for her unique songwriting style and haunting vocals. Her interest in folk music
was sparked by her college tutor Howard Harrison while studying in Taunton. She
began her career in the early 2000s as part of various bands, including the
acoustic trio Devil's Interval. Portman released her debut solo album The
Glamoury in March 2010, inspired by fairy tales and receiving critical acclaim.
Her subsequent albums include Hatchling (July 2012), which earned a BBC Radio 2
Folk Award nomination for Best Origin...
