Erick Manana is a Malagasy acoustic guitarist, singer, and songwriter born in
1959. He began learning the ba-gasy musical style from his grandfather at age
five and relocated to France in 1979. His professional career began in 1982 as a
member of the ensemble Lolo sy ny Tariny. Manana released his debut solo studio
recording, Taniko, in 1996. He was a member of the group Feo-Gasy alongside
sodina player Rakoto Frah. Manana received the Prix Media Adami Découvertes in
