Ernest Mitchell Andrews Jr., born on December 25, 1927, in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania, was an American jazz, blues, and pop singer. He began his career
after being discovered by songwriter Joe Greene in 1945, who wrote his biggest
hit "Soothe Me". Andrews released several albums including In the Dark (1957)
and This Is Ernie Andrews (1964). He joined the Harry James orchestra, debuting
in 1958 at the Blue Note jazz club in Chicago. He collaborated with notable
artists such as Gene Harris, Jay McShann, and the Harper Brothers. His career
