Essenza
Essenza, a heavy metal group formed in Italy in 1993, was led by guitarist Carlo
G. Rizzello and bassist Alessandro S. Rizzello, with drummer Luca A. Rizzello
joining initially before Paolo Colazzo took over in 2003. The band released
early demos such as Essenza (1996) and Algoritmo 60 (1998), then full-length
Suggestioni (2000) and Contrasto (2002) in Italian, showcasing hard‑rock
influence. In 2009, Devil's Breath shifted to English lyrics and a heavier metal
style with speed reminiscent of Megadeth. This was followed by the 2014 album
Blind Gods and Revolutions.
