Esther & Abi Ofarim
Active throughout the 1960s, Esther & Abi Ofarim was an Israeli folk and pop duo
that achieved success in Germany and throughout Europe. Esther Zaied (born June
13, 1941) met guitarist Avraham ‘Abi’ Reichstade (born on October 5, 1937) in
1958 and were married later that year. They spent free time singing together at
home before Esther joined Abi’s musical duo Ofarim. With the addition of Esther,
the group became the Ofarim Trio. When third member Shulik Kraus left the group,
