Eugene Church
Eugene Church, born on 23 January 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri, was an American
singer known for his contributions to soul music. He attended George Washington
Carver High School in Los Angeles, where he formed connections with other
aspiring musicians such as Tony Allen and Arthur Lee Maye. His musical career
began in 1956 when he released two singles on Modern Records alongside Jesse
