Singer, multi-instrumentalist and dancer, Fani Davia alias Fanie Fayar was born
on September 7, 1982 in Brazzaville, Congo. Every evening, she sang in the
streets of her neighborhood at sunset, before joining the group La Colombe in
her church in 1996, at the age of 14. There, with her trainer Sylvain Scafio,
she learned the techniques of singing, and eventually joined a number of groups,
including Yela Wa. With Yela Wa, she learned to play traditional instruments
such as the sanza, ndara, balafon and tam-tam. With Yela Wa, she took part in
