Fantastique
Fantastique was a pop music duo from the Netherlands, formed in 1981 and
consisting of Dick van Dam and Astrid Leuwener. The duo's breakthrough came with
their debut single "Mama Told Me", released in September 1981. Produced by Cat
Music, the song featured vocodered vocals and a brassy-laden march rhythm,
topping charts in multiple countries and peaking at number 27 on the Dutch Top
40. The success of "Mama Told Me" was followed by the release of their
self-titled debut album Fantastique in 1982, which included hits such as "Costa
Blanca", "Maria No Mas", and "Your Hand In My Ha...
