Felipe Renán Peláez Rodríguez, known as Felipe Peláez, was born on February 7,
1976, in Maracaibo, Venezuela. He is a Colombian-Venezuelan singer and composer
of vallenato and other musical genres, whose compositions have been recorded by
prominent artists such as Iván Villazón and Jorge Oñate. He began playing
instruments like the piano and guitar during his student years. At 16, he moved
to Bogotá for university studies, initially pursuing mechanical engineering
