Franz Jackson was an American saxophonist and clarinetist born on November 1,
1912, in Rock Island. He achieved professional recognition for a musical career
characterized by Chicago jazz and for forming the ensemble Original Jass All
Stars. Jackson achieved professional recognition for a career that began after
he studied at the Chicago Musical College and performed with the ensemble of
