Albert Henri Lapeyrère, known professionally as Fred Adison, was a French jazz
vocalist, drummer, and bandleader born in 1908. He studied piano and violin
before forming a jazz ensemble at age 18. Adison performed across France and
based himself in Paris in 1931, where his group scored silent short films. His
ensemble, Fred Adison and His Collegians, was a principal French backing group
for singers and films. Hits included the songs "En cueillant la noisette" and
