Friend & Lover were an American folk-singing duo composed of married couple Jim
Post and Cathy Conn. The duo's breakthrough came with the release of their hit
single "Reach Out of the Darkness", which reached number 10 on the US Billboard
Hot 100 chart in June 1968. The song was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, with
notable musicians Ray Stevens and Joe South, and became a political anthem for
the protest movement against American politics of the time. It was included as
