Gene Rodgers
Eugene R. Rodgers, Jr., known professionally as Gene Rodgers, was an American
jazz pianist, composer, and arranger, born on March 5, 1910, in New York City.
He began his professional career in the mid-1920s, recording with Clarence
Williams and King Oliver before joining Chick Webb and Teddy Hill. In the 1930s,
he embarked on international tours, performing in Australia and England, where
he recorded with Benny Carter. Rodgers is best known for his collaboration with
