Gérard Salesses is a French composer, conductor, and arranger born on August 10,
1949, in Toulouse. He studied at the Toulouse conservatory before beginning his
career as a pianist for the rock group Les Caïds in 1964. After moving to Paris
in 1970, Salesses served as the chief conductor for Sylvie Vartan and began a
prolific collaboration with Jean-Luc Azoulay under AB Productions. Together,
they composed over 1,200 songs for artists such as Dorothée and Hélène Rollès,
