Gioia Gerber, known mononymously as Gioia, and born on May 9, 1992 in Oberwil,
Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland, is a singer who began her musical journey at the
age of six by learning to play the piano. Her breakthrough moment came in 2009
when she participated in the fourth season of MusicStar, the Swiss version of
Pop Idol. Although she exited the competition early, Gioia secured a recording
contract with Universal Music Group. Gioia released her debut album Lady Sunrain
