Golden Smog
Golden Smog is an American alternative country-rock supergroup from Minneapolis,
Minnesota. Formed in 1989, the group consists of a rotating lineup of musicians
from bands including Soul Asylum, The Replacements, Wilco and The Jayhawks.
Relative constant members who appear on all recordings include Kraig Johnson,
Dan Murphy, Gary Louris and Marc Perlman. The group released the covers EP On
Golden Smog in 1992. The ensemble's debut studio album, Down by the Old
Mainstream, appeared in 1995 and featured Jeff Tweedy and Noah Levy. This was
