Gregory C. "Greg" Bandy was born on March 18, 1951 in Cleveland, Ohio and was an
American jazz drummer. He moved to New York City at age 20 to pursue a career in
jazz. He was discovered by Charles Mingus and worked extensively in New York. In
the 1970s, Bandy collaborated with various musicians, including Art Davis, Lee
Morgan, and Pharoah Sanders. Bandy's debut album, Lightning in a Bottle, was
released in 1997 on Big Ox Records. Returning to Cleveland, he led his own trio
