Gunilla Katarina Backman, born on June 18, 1965, in Sweden, is a singer known
for her work in musical theater. She studied classical ballet from 1972 until
1982 and debuted as Liesl in the musical Sound of Music at Folkan theater. In
1984, she toured with Carola Häggkvist and formed the pop duo Katz with
Henriette Johnsson. Her breakthrough came in 1990 when she played Cosette in Les
