Canadian country singer Guylain Tanguay was born in Girardville, Quebec, on
September 23, 1972. A French-speaking guitarist and performer, she made a name
for herself in a 1986 television contest organized by Quebec's Télé-Métropole,
which gave her access to the stage and enabled her to open for artists such as
Roch Voisine and Fernand Gignac. His first album, Perte de Contrôle (1988),
recorded in France, was followed by a European tour and another production of
