Hagaw, a Polish traditional jazz group, was founded in May 1964 at Warsaw's
Stodoła club. The quintet initially included Henryk Kowalski on violin, Andrzej
Jastrzębski on sousaphone, Grzegorz Brudko on banjo, and Wiesław Papliński on
washboard. Their first concert took place in November 1964. Hagaw gained
recognition by placing fourth at the Jazz nad Odrą festival in 1965 and third in
1966. The band participated in notable events such as the Jazz Jamboree and Old
Jazz Meeting. Notable albums include Do You Love Hagaw? (1967), Happy Hagaw
