Halie Loren, born on October 23, 1984, in Alaska, is an American singer. She
began performing at age 10 and won first place in the Austin Songwriters
Competition in 2000. Her debut album Full Circle was released in summer 2006,
featuring original compositions. Subsequent albums include They Oughta Write a
Song (2008), which won the Just Plain Folks Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album and
reached Number two on Japan's jazz album sales chart in 2010; and Heart First
(2011), which won the Jazz Audio Disc Awards. Loren also released the live album
Stages in 2009, recorded in Oregon.
