French metal band Hangman's Chair was formed in Essonne in 2005. At the time, it
comprised singer Keo Nakphoumin, guitarists Sid Ahmed Azzouni and Julien Chanut,
bassist Bernard Quarante and drummer Mehdi Birouk Thépegnier. After a first
metal sludge album shared with Parisians Eibon for the Bones Brigade label, the
band recorded (A Lament for...) The Addicts (2007) and turned to stoner/doom
metal. In 2008, the singer and bassist gave way to Cédric Toufouti (also
