Haywood Henry
Frank Haywood Henry, also known as Haywood Henry, born on January 10, 1913, in
Birmingham, Alabama, was an American jazz baritone saxophonist. He started on
the clarinet before switching to baritone saxophone while at Alabama State
Teachers College. In 1934, he joined the Erskine Hawkins Orchestra, staying
until the 1950s. Henry then collaborated with artists like Tiny Grimes and the
Fletcher Henderson Reunion Band. He played on over 1,000 rock and roll records
