Headless Chickens was a New Zealand rock band formed in 1985. The group, known
for their innovative use of electronic instruments and sampling, emerged from
the Dunedin music scene but diverged from the typical sound associated with
Flying Nun Records. Their breakthrough came in 1987 when they won the Rheineck
Beer Rock award, which funded their debut album Stunt Clown, released in 1988.
