Helmuth Brandenburg was born on September 16, 1928, and was a German composer, conductor, saxophonist, and arranger known for his work in jazz and popular music. He initially performed in Munich with musicians including Freddie Brocksieper and Ernst Jäger. From 1970 to 1973, he led the RIAS Dance Orchestra, where he modernized its repertoire by incorporating beat and rock influences and new electronic production techniques.
