Henry Kaleialoha Allen (contributor)
Henry Kaleialoha Allen, born in Hilo, Hawaii, on June 11, 1933, was an American
Hawaiian steel guitarist and singer who lived until 2022. He began his
professional career in 1953 performing in Hawaiian hotels alongside Alfred
Apaka, before moving to Los Angeles in 1956 to study jazz. Returning to Hawaii,
he established the production company Polynesian Promotions in Lahaina, Maui,
and produced musical shows for major resort venues. Allen released albums
including Blue Hawaii, Magic of Steel Guitar, and Memories of Hawaii. In 2015,
