The Hep Stars were formed in Stockholm in 1963 and became one of Sweden’s most
successful pop groups of the 1960s. The early lineup included Jan “Janne” Frisk,
Lennart “Lelle” Hegland, Christer “Chrille” Pettersson, and Hans Östlund,
originally performing under the name Quartet Yep before shifting toward rock and
pop. They changed their name to The Hep Stars and soon added lead singer Svenne
