Hugo Moraga, born July 3, 1952, in Santiago de Chile, was a Chilean composer,
singer, and guitarist known for his contributions to the Canto Nuevo movement.
He began his musical career after studying architecture at the University of
Chile, which he attended in 1972. His debut was at a song festival at a school
in Avenida Recoleta, and he officially debuted in 1974. Moraga's early albums,
including Canciones al sur de mí (1979) and Lo primitivo (1980), showcased his
unique style blending complex harmonies with Chilean folk influences. His
