Hum, an alternative rock band from Champaign, Illinois, United States, formed in
1989 with guitarist Andy Switzky, guitarist Matt Talbott, bassist Akis Boyatzis
and drummer Jeff Kropp. The initial lineup recorded their first demo, Kissing Me
Is Like Kissing an Angel, in Steve Albini's basement. Hum released their debut
album, Fillet Show, in 1991 on local label 12 Inch Records. After several lineup
changes, the band signed with RCA Records and released their major-label debut,
