Hana Dresner‑Gat, known professionally as Illanit, was born on 17 September 1947
in Tel‑Aviv, Israel, and became a prominent singer. Her early exposure to music
began when she was discovered at a WIZO youth talent contest in 1962. She later
met and married Shlomo Zach, who would become her producer and collaborator.
Ilanit represented Israel twice at the Eurovision Song Contest, achieving fourth
place in 1973 with "Ey Sham" ("Somewhere") and eleventh in 1977 with "Ahava hi
