Ima Robot was formed in Los Angeles, California, by Alex Ebert and Tim Anderson
in the late 1990s; Alex Ebert, served as lead vocalist and songwriter, while Tim
Anderson played guitar. The duo first released the Public Access EP on
9 June 2003, followed by the self‑titled album Ima Robot on 16 September 2003,
which included the single "Dynomite". In 2004 they issued the EP Dynomite and
later the album Monument to the Masses on 12 September 2006, featuring singles
