Critically acclaimed German violinist Isabelle Faust was born in Esslingen am
Neckar, Baden-Württemberg, on March 19, 1972. Winner of the Paganini Competition
in Genoa in 1993, she has demonstrated the breadth of her talents in recordings
and concerts. Invited to the greatest festivals and concert halls, she won a
Gramophone Award in 1997 for her Bartok Sonatas , then went on to record the
great works of the repertoire: violin concertos by Beethoven, Brahms and Dvorak,
as well as those by contemporary composers, notably Janacek, Jolivet and
