Ivy Ling Po is a Chinese opera singer and actress who was born as Huang Yu-chun
in Shantou, Guangdong, China, in 1939. She is famous for her leading roles in
Huangmei opera films, most notably The Love Eterne (1963), and for being known
as the “Asian Movie Queen”. Ling Po achieved early professional recognition as a
child singer and actress under the stage name Xiaojuan in Amoy Hokkien films
before joining Shaw Brothers Studio. Her film career includes roles in Lady
