J. Stalin
Jovan Smith, known professionally as J. Stalin, was born on January 25, 1983,
and is an American rapper from West Oakland, California. Smith earned money as a
child by selling candy on BART trains, and began recording rap music around age
16. An early performance arose when DJ Daryl placed Smith on a track, which led
to collaborations on Richie Rich’s album Nixon Pryor Roundtree (2002). In 2007,
Smith signed with Zoo Entertainment. His discography includes the collaborative
album On Behalf of the Streets (2006) with The Mekanix, as well as the albums
