Jason Eli Becker, also known as Jason Becker, was born on July 22, 1969, in
Richmond, California, and is an American former guitarist and composer. He began
playing guitar at a young age, influenced by his father and uncle, both of whom
were guitarists. At 16, he formed the duo Cacophony with Marty Friedman and
released two albums, such as Speed Metal Symphony (1987) and Go Off! (1988). In
1988, he released his debut solo album Perpetual Burn. He joined David Lee
