Jay Perez
Jay Perez, born September 21, 1963, in San Antonio, Texas, is an American Tejano
singer known for blending rhythm and blues with traditional Tejano, regional
Mexican, and Latin pop. After dropping out of John Jay High School, he performed
as a drummer for the Mysterio Band before becoming lead vocalist for Latin Breed
and David Lee Garza y los Musicales. He launched a solo career in the early
1990s, releasing albums such as Te Llevo en Mi (1993), Steel Rain (1994), The
Voice (1995), and El Patron (2023). He won the Tejano Music Award for Male
