Jazzkantine
German jazz-funk band Jazzkantine formed in Braunschweig in 1993. Their
self-titled debut album won them an Echo Award in 1996 and they followed this
with 'heiß & fettig' in 1995, 'Geheimrezept' in 1998 and 'In Formation' in 2000.
Although never charting very high, Jazzkantine built up a loyal following
throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland, performing at the Montreux Jazz
Festival in 1998.
They teamed up with Staatstheater Braunschweig Ballet to form Tanzzkantine, a
contemporary ballet production featuring Jazzkantine's music. They released
