Jean Adebambo was born on July 1, 1962 in Islington, London. She began her music
career by chance while studying to be a nurse when she recorded cover versions
of "Again" and "Reunited" for Ital Records in the early 1980s. She later worked
with Jamaican producer Leonard Chin, for whom she recorded the single
"Paradise". Adebambo's solo career flourished under her own Ade J label,
releasing albums like Feelings (1983) and Off Key Loving (1985), as well as
