Jeanie Lambe, born on December 23, 1940 in Glasgow, Scotland, was a jazz singer who began performing with her parents before joining the Clyde Valley Stompers at age 17. She moved to England, recorded with George Chisholm in 1961, and performed with traditional jazz bands led by Kenny Ball, Mike Cotton, Chris Barber, and others. Inspired by Ella Fitzgerald, Lambe transitioned to modern jazz and gained prominence in the 1960s, appearing on television shows and in films.
