Born on September 17, 1983 in San Antonio, Texas, Jennifer Peña first stepped
into the spotlight in Houston in 1995, performing at a tribute concert for the
late Latin popstar Selena. Peña's debut studio album with her band Los Jetz,
Dulzura, arrived the following year, with the gold-selling release helping her
to gain a foothold on the Latin music scene and establish her place as one of
the leading lights of tejano music (popularized by Selena). In 1997, Peña
