Jeremy Lubbock
Jeremy Michael Lubbock, born 4 June 1931 in Kensington, London, was an English
pianist, conductor, arranger, and composer who began learning piano as a child
and later studied architecture at Oxford while performing jazz in London and
Paris. His first recordings appeared in the late 1950s, and he soon gained
recognition as a touring performer and arranger. In 1977, he relocated to Los
Angeles, where he worked on Joni Mitchell’s Mingus and Minnie Riperton’s final
album Minnie, and later collaborated with David Foster, Quincy Jones, and
