Jerk
Jerk, an Australia industrial metal band, formed in Sydney in 1998 by vocalist
Michael Matral, drummer Lamar Lowder, guitarist Johnathan Devoy, and bassist
Ross Empson. Initially an industrial goth rock band, the group released a
self‑titled six‑track EP in 2001 on Theory Recordings, leading to a performance
at Metal for the Brain festival. In April 2002, Jerk signed with Sony Records
and issued the album When Pure Is Defiled the following year, which peaked at
